Picnic to Manasa, Pilikula, Mangalore:-
6th March, 2011 was a day of rejoicing, entertainment and boat-riding
for the staff of Infant Jesus School. Early morning at 5.30 all the 18 staff
members got into a mini bus and traveled to Manasa Water Park at Polikula
Mangalore. On the way we had the breakfast at Orchard Palace, Maroor,
Moodbidri and reached Manasa at 10.30 a.m. For many of us it was a first
time experience in the lovely cold water to enjoy varieties of games. Having
enjoyed in every way in the water and a sumptuous meal at the restaurant, at
3 pm we proceeded to the nearby flower garden and then for the boat ride
that thrilled every one. Later our visit was to the Pilikula Botanical
garden nearby. It took us more than an hour but could not finish all the
items. Then we proceeded to Hampankatta Idea Ice cream parlour for a
“parfait” that made us sweet and cool. Being a Sunday and many of us
Catholics, the voice was to attend Holy Eucharist at Milagres Church. Some
of the ex-students of St. Aloysius demanded a visit to the chapel of St.
Aloysius college that marveled every one. Now was the time to turn back to
Chikmagalur. On the way at Bantval, Mr. Antony Sequeira (the proprietor of
famous “Sequeira Caterers” and nephew of our vice principal Fr. Lawrence
Sequeira) and his family were awaiting our arrival to offer us supper. The
bus took us back at exactly at 12 mid-night to Chikmagalur. It was a joy
filled day and every one thanked each one and retired to bed.
